GoofieTails ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Suyash Gangurde. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. By using the GoofieTails app or website (goofietails.com) you agree to this policy.
1. Who is the data controller
Suyash Gangurde is the controller of your personal data. Contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
You provide
- Account: email, display name, and a user ID (via Firebase Authentication — Email/Password, Google, or Apple Sign-In).
- Pet profiles: name, species, breed, age, weight, photos.
- Care data: feedings, medicines, vaccinations, schedules, walks, weight logs, notes.
- Documents: files you upload or scan into the Document Vault.
- Messages & media: text/photos/PDFs you send to Lily; audio during voice chat.
- Family sharing: email addresses of people you invite to a pet.
Collected automatically
- Location: precise GPS during Walks; approximate location for weather and "Explore nearby". Disable anytime in iOS Settings.
- Device & diagnostics: app version, device type, crash/error logs.
- Push token: to deliver reminders/notifications.
Payments: subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat. We receive subscription status only — we never receive your card details.
3. Why we use it (legal bases — UK GDPR)
- Provide the core app (pets, logs, walks, reminders) — performance of a contract.
- Power Lily AI chat/voice and image/PDF analysis — contract / consent.
- Send reminders you set up — contract / consent.
- Show nearby places and weather — contract / legitimate interests.
- Process subscriptions — contract.
- Keep the service secure and fix bugs — legitimate interests.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party ads.
5. Artificial Intelligence Features (Lily)
GoofieTails includes an AI assistant ("Lily") for text chat and voice conversations. To generate responses, the app sends the following to third-party AI providers: the messages you type, your pet's profile and care details (such as name, breed, age, weight, and logged feedings, medications, vaccinations, and walks), and any photos or documents you choose to attach.
These AI providers are Perplexity AI (text chat) and Google (Gemini) (voice mode). Data is sent solely to produce a response to you. It is not used for advertising and is not sold. We require these providers to protect your data to a standard equivalent to this policy.
Before any data is shared with an AI provider, the app asks for your explicit consent in a one-time in-app prompt. You can decline, in which case the AI features are not used and no data is sent.
6. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK/EEA (e.g. the US). Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
We keep data while your account is active. You can delete individual records in-app anytime. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within [[30]] days, except where retention is legally required.
8. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You can access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent. Email [email protected]. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Delete your account in-app via [[Settings → Delete account]] or by email.
9. Children
GoofieTails is not directed to children under [[13/16]]. We do not knowingly collect their data; contact us to remove any.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, authenticated APIs, and access controls. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and notify you of breaches as required.
11. Changes
We'll update this policy as the app evolves and post the new date here. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
